Favorite High School teacher: That’s so hard. I have a few for different reasons. Pam Steman for teaching me that math, even calculus, is fun. Kin Mack for preparing me for Clemson and sophomore level classes there. And Kim Day for always being there as a friend, a coach and an educator – she taught me three of my four sciences at the Creek.

First Scholarship Recipient and Her Second Year

First Scholarship Recipient and Her Second Year

Read What First Scholarship Recipient, Tia Habersham, says about the 1st semester of her sophomore year at Charleston Southern University.

At the beginning of my second year at Charleston Southern University, I was very excited. I couldn't wait to get my second year of school out of the way and start track again. I was upset when it came time to buy books because the school had originally said that I could charge books to the work study that I had been awarded but then said I couldn't once I got there with no money. Luckily one of the ladies told me that I had built myself a credit from the previous semester so I was able to get books.

Profile Juontonio Pinckney: From Big Man on the Court to Corporate America

Favorite High School teacher: I can’t say that I had a favorite teacher in high school. I believe we had such a great staff during our time at Battery Creek that to name one would be to slight so many others. Especially those who may not have had the job title of teacher, but were so influential and taught many daily lessons that I still employ today.
Office held during high school: Student Council Vice President
 Sports played: Basketball
Most memorable high school moment: Graduation. It was one of the most emotional nights of my life. Looking back I can now certify this night as the end of what I had always know as a child, and the beginning of what I was to become as a man.
